User Experience Designer

Welcome to my play space!

I am a first year graduate student at Indiana University, Bloomington in the Human-Computer Interaction Design program in the School of Informatics and Computing. I graduated Cum Laude from Trine University in 2010, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. While there, my focus was journalism and public relations, and I worked with the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore as an intern to the office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Management in the summer of 2009.

In my "free time," I enjoy drawing in my spare time (a link to my art portfolio can be found in my contact information), and I never turn down a good book... and often never put one down either. I am currently working on creating a short Web comic at the request of a friend that I hope to display on my blog in the near future (also can be found in contact info). I enjoy telling stories, and I found that throughout my last semester in HCI/d, the ability to tell a story about a user's interactions, emotions and experiences can better relate both the strenghts and weaknesses of designs. Because of this reflection, I have been spending more free time to creating stories than before in hopes to futher improve upon this skill.

I am also the proud owner of a little red, curly-tailed rescue mutt, even though she doesn't claim me all the time. Although I will miss her greatly, I hope to find a summer internship where I can futher my skills of experience design.
